PERRY COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - Two children were taken to the hospital after a house fire in Perryville, Missouri on Thursday morning, December 11.

According to Perryville Assistant Fire Chief Garrett Schott, while en route to the fire in the 700 block of Bruce Street, they learned that two children were possibly trapped inside the home.

When they arrived, firefighters found flames coming through the roof of the home.

Schott said they found two children and brought them out to EMS.

He said the children were taken to the Perry County ER by ambulance. They currently do not know their condition.

The Missouri state fire marshal will be investigating the cause of the fire.
