A San Francisco Bay Area farm is recalling eggs due to a possible Salmonella contamination, according to health officials.
Vega Farms Inc., which is based in the Solano County city of Dixon, recalled eggs on Dec. 5. More specifically, the Vega Farms brand eggs recalled are the 12-count cartons and 30-count flats of eggs with a handler code of 2136 and sell-by dates of Dec. 22 and earlier, according to the recall notice from the California Department of Public Health. These eggs have a packed-by date of Nov. 24 or earlier.
These eggs were distributed in the Sacramento and Davis areas, including restaurants and farmers' markets, according to the CDPH.
Earlier this year, a Hilmar company recalled 1.7 million cartons of eggs over a possible Salmonella contamination.
