As we entered the last month of the year, we have seen a wet pattern in parts of the area. The recent rainfall and snow/ice melt put a small dent in portions south of Highway 17 and 70.

This week’s drought update is starting to slim the moderate drought for portions of Beaufort, Craven, Duplin, Greene, Lenior, Onslow, Pamlico, and Pitt counties. The remaining parts of our hold with the abnormally dry or no drought-free.

The week of December 4th showed mostly either highlighted as moderate or abnormally dry. No change along the Crystal Coast as they have not been dealing with an ongoing drought.
