The new trailer for Supergirl was just recently released online, with the second film in James Gunn and Peter Safran's new DC Universe (DCU) promising to be an interesting departure from Gunn's own film Superman. Directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira, Supergirl will focus on Clark Kent's cousin, Kara Zor-El (Milly Alcock), in a space-faring adventure that will explore more of the cosmic side of the new DCU. There hasn't been a Supergirl film since 1984, in which Helen Slater first brought the character to life in live-action. However, Alcock's version of the hero will show a different side to the character not seen on the big screen before.
