WASHINGTON — A federal judge in Maryland Thursday ordered the Trump administration to “immediately” release Kilmar Abrego Garcia from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody, but it’s unclear if the Department of Homeland Security will follow the judicial order.

In a statement to States Newsroom, Department of Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin said the “order lacks any valid legal basis and we will continue to fight this tooth and nail in the courts.”
