DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. - A three-vehicle crash in Douglas County claimed the life of an Elkton man on Tuesday evening, according to the Oregon State Police.
OSP officials said they responded at 5:20 p.m. on Dec. 9 to a multi-vehicle crash near milepost 22 on Highway 38. A preliminary investigation determined that a Buick Enclave driven by 48-year-old David Michael Lawson entered the westbound lane and collided with a Freightliner commercial motor vehicle, state police said. Authorities said that the crash caused the Buick to spin uncontrollably in the roadway where it was struck by a westbound Buick LaCrosse and rolled, coming to rest on its side.
Lawson was declared deceased at the scene, while the driver of the Freightliner, a 65-year-old Vancouver, Washington man, sustained minor injuri
