The Emporia Public School Endowment Fund with the Emporia Community Foundation awards grants once a year for non-budgetary items for USD 253 classrooms.
Teachers can apply for grants up to $750 with preference given to projects that incorporate alternative learning strategies, represent creative teaching ideas, include innovative approaches to the accomplishment of objectives, or motivate students and activate their eagerness to be life-long learners.
This year’s award winners include Emporia High School for the acquisition of advanced glassblowing equipment, and the purchase of Estes Model Rockets, launch supplies and safety equipment, each program receiving a $750 grant.
