The Kansas Board of Regents has made its decision and Emporia State University has its 19th president: Matthew Baker.

Baker has spent the last 14 years working as the vice president of student affairs at Northwest Missouri State University, where he also served as the dean of students.

Baker received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Kansas State University, a master’s degree in higher education from the University of Arkansas and a doctorate in educational leadership and administration from the University of Missouri.

The announcement was made during a Kansas Board of Regents meeting held on the second floor of the Memorial Student Union building. The meeting was made available to the public, bringing university officials, students and others to Webb Hall to celebrate the decision
