The Tallmadge City School District community is mourning the passing of an 18-year-old senior student Dec. 11, Superintendent Steve Wood confirmed in a statement.

Logan Leighty died at about 6:37 a.m. of what appear to be natural causes, Gary Guenther, chief investigator of the Summit County Medical Examiner, reported.

"We are heartbroken by this sudden loss in our community," Wood's statement read in part. "...Our condolences go out to the Leighty family at this extremely difficult time. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers."

The autopsy results are still pending, Guenther said. No foul play is suspected.
