Two Newcastle brothers have been banned from keeping animals for ten years after two dogs were found severely underweight with hair loss and fleas left untreated. Charles Arnot and David Simons, of Hotchpudding Lane, Newcastle, both pleaded guilty to two offences under the Animal Welfare Act 2006.
Newcastle Magistrates' Court heard how RSPCA Inspector Rachael Hurst was called to the address on May 23 this year following a report to the charity’s cruelty line with concerns for the welfare of two dogs at the property.
Inspector Hurst told the court of her investigation at the property, describing a "pungent, malodorous smell" as she entered.
