Three men have been arrested and charged in connection with an £8million drug find in Lanarkshire . Officers executed a warrant at a premises on Melford Road in Bellshill on Thursday, December 11.
There, police allegedly discovered cocaine with an estimated street value of more than £8m. Three men, aged 29, 46 and 65, were arrested and charged in connection with the find.
They are due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday, December 15 and police say enquiries into the full circumstances are ongoing.
Police say it is one of the largest drug recoveries ever recorded in Scotland.
Detectives Superintendent Steven Elliot said: “This was a sizeable recovery – one of the most significant we’ve seen in Scotland.
