ALLEN PARK -- Kelvin Sheppard has played with and against Matthew Stafford dating back to his days at LSU more than 15 years ago.
Sheppard was also a teammate of Stafford’s during his lone season on Detroit’s roster in 2018. The Lions defensive coordinator has also coached against the surging quarterback three times through his previous four years on the team’s defensive staff.
So, yeah, he knows him well.
Sheppard has been on the field in games and practices against those no-look passes, with the former longtime Lions quarterback always finding new ways to confuse opposing defenses.
The main message Sheppard is telling his defense ahead of this weekend’s trip to face the Los Angeles Rams is not to trust Stafford’s eyes or shoulder placement. The veteran quarterback continues to excel
