South Belfast Neighbourhood Inspector Róisín Brown explained that officers observed a number of people acting suspiciously in the area of Botanic Avenue, near Posnett Street.
“We stopped one man and two women and, as a result, a man aged in his 40s was arrested for possession of a class C drug, possession of a Class C drug with intent to supply, and resisting arrest. The two women were permitted to leave,” she said.
“Whilst dealing with this incident, a further man to whom police wished to speak made off on foot and was believed to have gained access to the former Donegall Pass Police Station.
