GRAND FORKS – Two Grand Forks Public Schools students said the Advancement Via Individual Determination program helped them become more confident, successful and prepared for life after high school.

At the Grand Forks School Board meeting on Monday Dec. 8, Central High School students Layla Bakke and Lacey Ramos spoke to board members about their positive experiences with the college and career readiness program AVID.

“AVID has ignited my passion for learning and driven me to pursue any educational opportunity that comes my way. I now have a positive attitude toward learning and feel excited and confident to pursue secondary education after high school,” Ramos said. “Because of AVID I've become a successful, ambitious and determined student.”
