Syracuse, N.Y. – Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon says the county could have lost the $100 billion Micron project in Clay if it failed within the next few months to get 91-year-old widow Azalia King to leave the home where she has lived for 60 years.

McMahon praised a $3 million settlement that the county’s Industrial Development Agency approved Thursday. Under the deal, King will have until May 1 to vacate the home on Caughdenoy Road.

The county executive said that if King continued to occupy the home in what is now White Pine Commerce Park, Micron Technology would not be able to begin construction of its massive semiconductor manufacturing plant in 2026.
