LAKE WORTH, Texas — Lake Worth ISD is set to be taken over by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), according to Commissioner Mike Morath.
This comes after all, but one of Lake Worth ISD’s campuses received failing grades. One school, Marilyn Miller Language Academy, received an unacceptable rating for five consecutive years, WFAA previously reported .
"Lake Worth ISD acknowledges the seriousness of this moment but also sees it as a turning point. With a focus on transparency and teamwork, the district is committed to restoring confidence and ensuring that every student has access to an exceptional education," the district said in a statement.
