A man was arrested following an alleged domestic dispute at a residence in Norwalk on Wednesday evening where shots were fired at a dog.

Officers were dispatched to a residence on Old Saugatuck Road just before 7 p.m. Wednesday on a report of a domestic dispute in which a shot was fired, according to the Norwalk Police Department .

Arriving officers located a large brown pit bull that was suffering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Officers immediately applied pressure to the wound and worked to stabilize the dog who was transported to the VCA Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center , where it was reported to be in stable condition.
