The local Catholic diocese’s request to name the young women suing it and Bishop Luers High School has been preliminarily denied, according to a court order filed today.
The order signed by Judge Andrew Williams of Allen Superior Court states the court will reconsider the ruling following the completion of mediation and the filing of a second motion.
Lawyers for each side argued last month why the young women suing the school, the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend and four officials should or shouldn’t remain known as Jane Does in court proceedings.
The lawsuit stems from allegations of systemic failure to protect female Bishop Luers students from sexual exploitation involving pornographic videos created by male students. The boys allegedly superimposed their female classmates’ names on
