“I apologize for my actions,” Morey said at his sentencing hearing before Ontario Court Justice George Orsini on Thursday. “I was addicted to fentanyl and my girlfriend was also addicted to fentanyl and I was just trying to support our habits.

“That wasn’t the best way to do it and I realize that now,” he added. “I was just trying to keep us high, basically.”

Morey pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to one count of possessing fentanyl for trafficking.
