The Bombay High Court on Thursday questioned the state government over the reduction of security cover for the family of late NCP leader Baba Siddique — including his son, former MLA Zeeshan Siddique, whose protection was scaled down from Y+ level to merely two constables. The court also sought the minutes of the meeting of the Threat Perception Committee (TPC), which evaluates security threats.
The HC was hearing a plea filed by Shehzeen Siddique, widow of the late leader, seeking a court-monitored SIT probe into the murder. The plea has alleged that Zeeshan Siddique, who was identified as the primary target in the chargesheet, had his security reduced despite the threats.
