Transit Police are seeking criminal charges against a 20-year-old driver whose Corvette Stingray ended up on Green Line tracks running along Beacon Street at Marion Street in Brookline.

The unidentified driver allegedly told the police that he was unfamiliar with the area when he drove his Stingray, a sports car whose base price is around $70,000 and quickly grows from there, onto the tracks a little before 5 p.m. Wednesday. Police determined the vehicle was unregistered and uninsured and that the driver was unlicensed. The car was removed by an MBTA tow truck. Police say they will be seeking criminal charges against the driver.
