JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville man is recovering after allegedly being shot by his roommate, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Sgt. Richardson with the Violent Crimes Unit said police were alerted about a man being shot at approximately 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
When officers arrived to the home on Sunland Drive, north of Beach Boulevard, they found the victim with gunshot wounds to his leg and foot.
An initial investigation, according to Richardson, revealed that the man was sleeping in his room when his roommate came in and shot him multiple times.
He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect was later detained during a traffic stop after traveling into St. Johns County, Richardson said.
