The Ahmedabad City Sessions Court on Wednesday rejected an application seeking a CBI probe in connection with a 2008 incident in which two minors studying in the Asaram Ashram-run gurukul in Motera were found dead in the Sabarmati riverbed under mysterious circumstances.
The court of Additional Sessions Judge PI Prajapati passed the order while acting on an application moved by the father of one of the children.
The case was investigated by Gujarat CID Crime Cell, which also filed a chargesheet against seven office bearers of the gurukul. They are facing charge of causing death by negligence under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code and Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act.
