On Thursday, we spoke with Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp & Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly. Both heavily thanked the public for sharing their inputs on several topics that have sparked controversy in the area.

When asked about the Standifer Gap Bridge project and its delay, Chattanooga Mayor, Tim Kelly pointed to inflation as a reason.

Replacement of popular Chattanooga bridge delayed

Nearly two years after the state closed the Standifer Gap Road bridge, it still hasn't been replaced.

"You know like most things, I think inflation has taken a big bite. And other construction projects have been delayed just cause of cost over runs," said Kelly.

The bridge was temporarily closed in 2016 and has not yet been reopened.
