A passing motorist’s dashboard camera caught the Aug. 23 moment a Point Place teenager was fatally stabbed near that neighborhood’s McDonald’s restaurant.
That and several other video clips from nearby surveillance cameras were played Thursday morning for a Lucas County Juvenile Court judge who will rule next week on whether the resulting delinquency for murder charge against John Jackson, Jr., should be bound over to adult court under Ohio law.
Also played for the judge during the hourlong probable-cause hearing was an audio recording of a 911 call in which a person identifying himself as Jackson, 16, admitted to stabbing Xander Epps, 14, and said the wound could be fatal — but also described the stabbing as self-defense.
