ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — The FIFA World Cup is on a crash course with the United States and the city of Atlanta in 2026.

The U.S. men’s team got a favorable draw and a fantastic shot to advance with Paraguay, Australia and a team that’s still to be determined in Group D. The U.S. beat both Paraguay and Australia by a score of 2-1 in the lead up to the qualifying round.

“These are teams that they’ve actually beaten here in the last few months in the buildup to this World Cup,” said Kevin Egan, a host for Apple TV’s coverage of Major League Soccer. “I think they’re teams that won’t have an awful lot of the ball in games. The U.S will dominate possession and should have the ingenuity to break them down and win these games.”
