One person is dead after being shot by cops in Mississauga on Thursday afternoon.
Peel Regional Police said officers were called to a home in the Winston Churchill Blvd.-Britannia Rd. area at 2:30 p.m. for a stabbing.
Police said that a victim was transported to an area hospital and there was no immediate word on their condition.
Cops said it was an officer-involved shooting and that a suspect was subsequently pronounced dead.
The province’s Special Investigations Unit has been notified, police said.
This was the second police-involved shooting in recent days.
Last weekend, Ontario’s police watchdog was brought in to investigate a man’s death after he was shot multiple times by a Toronto Police officer at the Danforth GO station.
