EUGENE, Ore. - The Willamette Farm & Food Coalition (WFFC) recently celebrated a record-breaking Fill Your Pantry event, spotlighting a rise in local food access and farmer support.
According to WFFC, the event highlighted a growing food insecurity crisis in Lane County. The 2025 Fill Your Pantry event drew 47 local farmers and thousands of community members, generating $228,599.82 in sales, a 32% increase from last year. More than 400 SNAP customers attended, benefiting from over $35,000 in free Pantry Bucks distributed during the event.
"Families and community members showed up in numbers we’ve never seen," said Faye Sofranko, WFFC Board President. She emphasized the urgent need for community-led solutions to address food system inequities.
