Kilmar Abrego Garcia has been freed from an immigrant detention facility in Pennsylvania and is en route to his family in Maryland.

Abrego Garcia, the Salvadoran migrant at the center of a case that has spotlighted President Donald Trump 's hardline immigration policies, was released at 4:45 p.m., Dec. 11, just hours after a federal judge ordered that he be set free, his attorney, Simon Sandoval-Moshenberg, told USA TODAY.
