NORTHAMPTON — Next week, four anti-war demonstrators arrested for protesting at city company L3Harris will have their day in court, their charges downgraded from criminal to civil.

L3Harris, a defense contractor with a manufacturing facility in the Paradise City, has been the target of many protests revolving around Israel’s war in Gaza since October 2023.

Four members of Demilitarize Western Massachusetts, an anti-war group, will have a civil hearing next Thursday following a March protest in the facility’s lobby.

On March 19, there were five protesters at L3Harris offices “loudly chanting anti-government speech” and two additional people recording them on their phones, according to a police report of the incident.
