BRANSON, Mo. (KY3) - NBC’s ‘Today’ will feature Branson’s Christmas lights display during its “Merriest Main Street” segment Friday morning, with the live broadcast expected to draw several hundred people to the Commercial and Main Street intersection.
The city will close the intersection between 5:30 and 8:30 a.m. for the broadcast, which begins at 6 a.m. and will feature more than a million twinkling lights. Organizers call it the “glistening jewel of the Ozark Mountain Christmas.”
People from across the country, including Minnesota and Texas, are expected to attend the event.
“It’ll put us on the national map a little more. It will open up the chance for people all over the United States and the world to come to Branson,” said Chad Stream, manager of the Branson Cafe.
