HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Ongoing sewer maintenance efforts in east-central Hastings will move to Burlington Avenue during the week of Dec. 8, 2025, depending on the weather.
Contractor Johnson Service Company of Kearney is working to clean and inspect the sewer system with cameras in east-central Hastings, which includes eight blocks of Burlington Avenue, as part of a larger project to video the city’s entire sewer system. The project is a proactive approach to sewer maintenance.
Work on Burlington Avenue includes the blocks between 14th and Sixth streets. There may be temporary lane closures at the work areas. Because manholes are located in every lane across that eight-block area, different lanes will be closed at different locations.
