A Medford elementary school is remaining closed for the rest of the week after a possible virus outbreak saw more than 130 students call out sick on Wednesday.
Roberts Elementary School officials canceled Friday classes due to a fast-spreading stomach illness that has affected scores of students and staff.
In a statement released Thursday afternoon , district officials said a continued wave of stomach illness, suspected by local and state health officials to be an outbreak of norovirus, has forced the school to shutter.
“Due to a high number of students and staff members continuing to experience symptoms as a result of the suspected spread of Norovirus at the Roberts Elementary School, there will be no school again for students and staff at the Roberts on Friday,” the statement sa
