JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Relief is on the way for drivers who are stopped in their tracks, waiting at the train tracks.
Jacksonville City Council Member Joe Carlucci found out that a traffic issue in San Marco largely boiled down to drivers waiting on trains, which were also waiting on another train.
However, thanks to some new tech, those days may soon become a thing of the past.
"I had a meeting yesterday where they were late because they were stuck by the train," Carlucci said.
Carlucci has had plenty of his own experiences stuck waiting on the trains after growing up in and now representing San Marco.
But for the past few weeks, he's heard from constituent after constituent about the delays taking up to an hour at a time at the worst part of the day — rush hour.
