Police said a three-year-old child is dead after a collision involving a vehicle and two pedestrians Thursday in Cambridge.

Waterloo Regional Police said officers responded at 12:50 p.m. to a plaza on Cedar St. for a report of a collision involving a motor vehicle and two pedestrians in the crosswalk.

The pedestrians were transported to a hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries and police said the three-year-old succumbed to her injuries.

A 31-year-old Cambridge woman sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, a 75-year-old man from Cambridge, was not injured.
