At least six people were injured in a massive gas explosion on Thursday in Hayward, California. The blast sparked a major fire, demolishing at least one house, shattering windows, and shaking the nearby area. According to fire officials, injured individuals were hospitalised.

The incident took place about two hours after a construction crew damaged an underground gas line. As per Pacific Gas & Electric Co., at around 7:35 a.m., a construction crew, unaffiliated with the utility, had damaged an underground gas line. Utility workers arrived to isolate the damaged line, but gas was leaking from various locations.
