The Sun Valley girls basketball team dug in and finished with a flourish Thursday night.

A smothering fourth quarter and a momentum-shifting buzzer-beater from Luci Damico at the end of the third powered the Vanguards to a 46-38 Ches-Mont League win over Unionville.

Damico poured in 19 points, Ana Heygood-Corrales added 13, and Samantha Baron scored five of her 10 in the fourth as Sun Valley (3-0) held the Longhorns to just two points over the final eight minutes.

In the Central League:

Radnor 41, Marple Newtown 40 >> Sadie Boulden drilled the go-ahead 3-pointer late in the fourth quarter for the Raptors. She ended with 12 points.

Nyah Yao led Radnor with 17 points and seven rebounds. Bree Simpson added 10 points and five boards.
