CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WTVD) -- As Botox and fillers continue to gain popularity, UNC-Chapel Hill is one of the first universities in the nation to offer an introductory course teaching the next generation.
The class is called Clinical Aesthetic Injectables Training and it's led by a Boston-based team of nurse practitioners.
Two lectures are offered on Zoom before students meet on campus for hands-on training.
Organizers say clinicians learn how to inject introductory level neurotoxins and hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers.
They say the field of aesthetics is booming and the goal is to improve safety in the industry.
