New Delhi, Dec 12: 5G services have been launched across all states and union territories in India, currently available in 99.9% of districts, with over 5.08 lakh Base Transceiver Stations (BTSs) installed.

The government implements initiatives to enhance connectivity in underserved regions, including the BharatNet project and a 4G saturation scheme. Telecom infrastructure is being deployed and shared by both private and state-led service providers.

Additionally, seven Working Groups under the Bharat 6G Alliance are progressing with a focus on aligning different technology sectors to support innovation and the upcoming 6G strategy, with spectrum policy being central to this plan.
