GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. (WFIE) - Gibson County Animal Services are offering free adoptions this holiday season.

Officials say with a generous donation from a local supporter, the shelter is waiving adoption fees for all dogs and cats through December 31.

Shelter staff say the gift could not have come at a better time as kennels are full and winter months typically bring an increase in surrendered animals.

“It’s been great with the community’s support since we’ve took over the shelter, and it is fantastic - love the community’s support,” Interim Director Teresa Stize says.
