MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The Superintendent of Monroe City Schools, Sam Wood III’s contract has been extended by the Monroe City School Board.
He is halfway through his original three-year contract and was extended until 2028.
Only one board member voted against it on procedural grounds, but he and the others were enthusiastic about his work.
“He’s made some changes as far as building his team and things like that,” Michael Sampognaro said. “He’s done a great job implementing different programs. So he’s been a good leader for the last year and a half that he’s been superintendent.”
Sampognaro says the district has improved its district score up a letter grade.
Monroe City Schools now have two A rated schools for the first time under Moore’s tenure.
