A North Yorkshire nurse died days after discharging herself from hospital in Australia, an inquest has heard, as an investigation into her death remains ongoing.
Catherine Ann McIntyre, 55, who lived in Queensland but was originally from Northallerton, fractured her arm on May 29 this year and went to hospital.
After getting treatment for the injury, she discharged herself and returned home.
At an inquest opening, held at Northallerton Coroner's Court on Thursday (December 11), it was heard that Mrs McIntyre was found unresponsive on June 3 this year, days after leaving the care of the hospital.
Despite efforts from emergency services, the 55-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
