New Delhi: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has suspended four flight operations inspectors in response to IndiGo’s recent large-scale operational breakdown. These inspectors were responsible for overseeing IndiGo’s flight safety systems, operational procedures, and regulatory compliance.

Last week, thousands of IndiGo flights were cancelled or delayed due to a severe crew shortage and disruptions linked to new duty-time norms.

Preliminary findings suggest gaps in inspection and oversight, indicating that the inspectors may not have adequately flagged or addressed early warning signs within IndiGo’s operations.

IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers is scheduled to appear before the DGCA today after being summoned to present a detailed report on the large-scale flight cancellations.
