UTICA – Sometimes a team can learn a lot about itself after a loss.

Such is life for Utica Ford.

The Falcons’ girls basketball team dropped their season opener Monday to New Baltimore Anchor Bay 63-34. But instead of dwelling on that loss, Utica Ford went back to work this week and in its second game of the season Thursday, the Falcons showed signs of mass improvement.

Utica Ford cruised past host Utica 53-13 in Macomb Area Conference crossover play Thursday, beating the Chieftains in every facet of the game to even its record at 1-1.
