The National Weather Service released a winter storm watch at 1:30 a.m. on Friday valid from Sunday 4 a.m. until Monday 7 a.m. for Wayne and Cayuga counties.
The weather service adds, "Heavy lake effect snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 7 inches or more possible in the most persistent lake snows."
"Travel could be difficult with snow covered roads and poor visibility," comments the weather service. "Narrow bands of heavy snow could bring rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities. Localized travel problems will be possible. Heavy snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities."
