On Friday at 2 a.m. a winter storm watch was released by the National Weather Service valid from Saturday 7 a.m. until Monday 1 a.m. for Northern Erie.
The weather service describes, "Heavy lake effect snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 6 inches or more possible in the most persistent snow. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph and produce blowing and drifting snow."
"Travel could be very difficult due to slippery road conditions and poor visibility," states the weather service. "Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation."
