Bhubaneswar: A member of Odisha State Commission for Women on Friday met a victim of alleged sexual assault, who was admitted to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar in serious condition.

Police have also launched an investigation and arrested the accused house owner, who allegedly committed the crime when family members of the minor girl were not at home. Medical and forensic examinations are being conducted to verify the allegations, sources said. ADVERTISEMENT

“The survivor’s condition is now stable. The assault took place inside the house when her parents were away. Strict action will be taken against the accused, and we will ensure that the girl gets justice,” said Urmila Mohapatra, a member of Odisha State Commission for Women.
