Terror struck a quiet village in Shevgaon tehsil near Sangamner, located in the Western Ghats, when five-year-old Nimish Shinde was attacked by a leopard while playing outside with other children. Despite suffering life-threatening injuries, Nimish fought for his life over two weeks in a Pune hospital and has now returned to a normal, healthy routine, according to his family and Surya Hospital officials.

Revati Shinde, Nimish’s mother, described the horrifying incident. “When the leopard appeared, all the children ran inside their homes, but my son was too young to understand the danger and froze in place. The wild animal clamped onto his neck and bit his head, thigh, and ear, leaving deep wounds. I had to physically pull the leopard off him. No one else was nearby to help,” she said.
