The mother of a Kensington man shot and killed by police last year following an hours-long standoff has filed a wrongful death lawsuit in federal court against seven Seacoast police departments, claiming “gross escalation and overreaction” by officers at the scene led to the death of her son.

The Attorney General’s Office announced in July the seven law enforcement officers who fired their weapons during the July 22, 2024, incident were justified in using deadly force in the shooting of Anthony J. Previte and won’t face any charges.

The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Concord on Tuesday by Kim E. Previte (administrator of her son’s estate) claims Previte, 29, was in the midst of a mental health crisis on the day he was shot and killed, was in his own home alone, and “was not att
