New Delhi: India's Census 2027 will unfold in two distinct phases, marking a historic shift to a fully digital format while incorporating caste enumeration for the first time, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced today.
The house listing operations will kick off between April and September 2026, followed by the core population enumeration in February 2027. This structured timeline aims to streamline data collection across the country.
Vaishnaw highlighted that Census 2027 will be the nation's first-ever digital census, leveraging technology for efficiency and accuracy in capturing demographic details.
